
David Andrew Wolven, age 52, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. David was a devoted son, brother, and friend, known for his kind heart and warm spirit. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities like fishing, hunting, and gardening. Driving his New Holland Tractor brought him joy, and he stayed active through his participation in the Special Olympics, where he excelled in downhill skiing and softball. He attended Noorthoek Academy for 30 years. For over 20 years, David cherished his work at Mr. Burger, where he made a positive impact on countless customers. Wednesdays were special to him as he looked forward to spending time with his friends at Friendship Club, creating lasting memories with those he held dear. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Michael and Barbara Wolven; brother, Daniel Wolven; aunt and uncle, Diane and Randy Frykberg; cousins, Andy and Jodi, Eric and Meghan; and many other extended cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held 11 am Monday, March 31 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 6390 Belmont Avenue NE, with Rev. Charles Schwartz officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10-11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make memorial contributions to Area 11 Special Olympics, Noorthoek Academy, or Consolata Sisters.
