Duane Allen Lowing

Duane Allen Lowing, age 82, of Kentwood, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Rita; children, Timothy Lowing, Tina Wiggers; grandchildren, Alyssa Wiggers, Zachary Wiggers, and Lucas and Kaylee Wiggers; great grandson, Lake John Rader; sisters, Leeanne and Eugene Kluting, Leslie and Warren Steinhaus, Juanita Zahrt; brother, Ken and Diane Hall; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lowing and Joan Umlor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Wiggers; brothers, Donald Lowing and David Lowing; brother-in-law, LaVerne Umlor. Duane worked at Walter Hagen for 20 years and Grand Rapids Public Schools (Shawnee Park) for 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Friday, October 11, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52nd St. SE, Kentwood with Rev. Phong Pham officiating. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may greet the family one hour prior to mass from 10-11am. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or to Faith Hospice.
