Darren L. Gort

Darren L Gort, age 55, of Hudsonville, after a well fought battle with cancer, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carie; children, Alex and Lindsey Gort, Courtney and Fred Gewirtz, Hayden and Amber Gort, Nicholas Mercado and his partner Camille Sawicki; granddaughter, Piper; parents, Larry and Joan Gort; siblings, Scott Gort, Quentin and Jodi Gort; mother in law, Nancy Dillingham, father in law, John Dillingham; brothers in law, John Dillingham II, Michael Dillihgham; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and countless friends. Darren was employed with Rockford Construction for 23 years, over which time everyone had become a second family. Cremation has taken place and the family is planning a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Foundation, 25 Michigan St NE, Suite 4100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, with funds designated to cancer research.
