Darrel LeRoy Davis

Darrel L. “Red” Davis, age 81, of Cedar Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Darrel was a kind and loving husband, dad, and grandpa, who dearly loved his family. He was a friend and mentor to many and was blessed with a heart to help anyone. Darrel worked in the Tool and Die department at General Motors Fisher Body Plant for 35 years until he retired. Over the years, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, golfing, camping with his family, and riding his motorcycle. Many miles were enjoyed on the open road. Darrel also enjoyed bowling, playing in many leagues and attending different tournaments. He was a true handyman with the ability to fix almost anything. Above all, his love and commitment to his family was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Virginia Davis; step-father, Clarence Craigmyle; sisters, Ruth Craigmyle, Ila Page, Nancy Clark; brother, August Davis; daughter-in-law, Bev Davis. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Sharon (Ringler); children, LeRoy Davis, Frank and Laura Davis; Craig and Bessie Davis; grandchildren, Dr. Amanda and Brad Williams, Andrew and Stephanie Davis, Lacey and Luke Foster, Ryan Green, Stephanie Ralston, Jennifer Davis, Christen and Chuck Olson, Frank II and Anna Davis, Aimee and Rick Malski, Blaine and Elizabeth Davis, Zach and Katie Davis, Slayter Davis, Connor and Nicole Davis, Charlotte Davis; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Green; sisters-in-law, Marcia Price (Robert), Helen Davis; many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Monday. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Barb Liescheidt officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. Burial will be held at White Cloud Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.
