
Daniel VanBeek, age 72, of Wyoming passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and was called to his heavenly home on Monday, May 4, 2026. Daniel loved people and especially loved mentoring and helping out kids. He coached at and was president of the Kelloggsville Little League and he also coached bowling. He was an avid fisherman in his free time and also enjoyed camping at Laman’s Landing in Ludington for the past 30 years. Daniel will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his selfless devotion to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gladys Van Beek; and brothers, Leonard and Mark VanBeek.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years Charlene; children, Danielle VanBeek, Chad (Stacey) VanBeek, bonus daughter and grandson, Heidi Gruntman and Austyn Gruntman; brother, Gary (Mary) VanBeek, his mother-in-law, Alice Griffin, who later became a mother figure to him; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Saturday, May 9 at Abundant Life Church of God, 4043 Byron Center Avenue SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Rick South and Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, May 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.
