Daniel Carl Swanson

Daniel Carl Swanson, age 74, of Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024 after a stubborn battle with cancer.  He was able to keep a positive attitude through that fight.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and North Korea.  He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing in the Upper Peninsula.  He worked as a machine installer and field service tech.  He was a gifted woodworker, making several treasures for his family to enjoy.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Sheri; sons, Karl (Dana Patch) Swanson, Nick Swanson; granddaughter, Adrianna Bergman-Swanson; brother, Steve  (Donna) Swanson; sisters: Marty Hastings, Judy Machelski, Linda (Frank) Trovato, Christine (Bill) Witowski; many nieces and nephews: canine companion, Sandy.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  Carl and Roberta Swanson; sister, Susie Labadie; brother-in-law, Dave Hastings.  Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.   Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-6 p.m. at  the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wounded Warriors.
