Dale Lynn Cooley

Dale Lynn Cooley, age 65, of Allendale passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2019, surrounded by his family. For the last 10 years, he fought courageously against heart disease and was continuously inspired by his grandchildren to keep fighting, especially during the difficult times. Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served his country in Vietnam. After graduating from Davenport University, he worked for American Seating for 24 years, then Standale Lumber for 14 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Michelle Davis; brother-in-law, Jim Roark; and sister-in-law, Alene Massop. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Judy; children and grandchildren, Lisa and Joe Anzaldua (Samantha, Sophia, Gracie, Olivia), Randall Davis (Kyleigh, Adrianna), Lynnie and Matt Schooley (Marcus, Isabell, Mitchell); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Julene and Laredo Anzaldua, Dena and Danny Scribner; many special nieces and nephews. Dale will always be remembered for his big heart, his unconditional love and dedication to those in his life, his love for MSU, along with his witty sense of humor. Anyone who crossed Dale’s path became a life-long friend. Visitations will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family would like to thank the LVAD and Heart Team at Spectrum for the loving care provided. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the needs of the family.
