Dale Henry Vruggink

Dale Vruggink, age 77, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Vruggink. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dale enjoyed the outdoors and growing up in Jenison farm country. He enlisted and served in Vietnam with the 4^th Infantry Engineering Brigade. Upon his return, he married his sweetheart, Yvonne. They were married for 42 years. As their boys grew, Dale enjoyed water skiing, golfing, camping and embarrassing his kids with his talent for roller skating backwards. Dale served on the deacon board in their church and enjoyed playing church league softball and bowling on a local league with his wife. He was a hard-working husband and father who lived a simple life. Dale is survived by his sons, Todd (Terri Lin) Vruggink, and Timothy (Kimberly) Vruggink; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Betten; brother, Kenneth Vruggink; and sister, Diane (Dana) Bassett. The family has paid their respects privately.
