
Dale E. Dood, age 76, of Grandville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Dale was a kind and loving husband, dad, and grandpa who dearly treasured his family. Dale proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He retired from Heeren Brothers Produce in Grand Rapids after many years of dedicated employment. Dale lived his life by example and demonstrated this by his service to his church, volunteering his time and talents in many ways. Dale was also actively involved with Gideons International since 2001. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, fishing, and especially working in his garden. Above all, his legacy of faith and family will be forever cherished. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Sharon “Shari” (Neele); children, Todd and Sherry Dood, Jeff and Sue Dood, Teresa Dood, Jayme and Heather Dood; grandchildren, Alec, Evan Dood, Olivia Howlett, Connor, Kyle (Alyssa), Carter, Chloe, Keegan, and Kobe Dood, Gracie, Hope, and Nicholas Dood, Lillian, Riley, and Gabriella Dood; siblings, Dan Dood, Jeanne (Mark) Bishop, Mike (MaryJo) Dood, Kimberlee Vanburen; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Marcia (Rog) Lamer, Kathy (Bob) Barendse; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Grace Reformed Church, 3330 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming with his daughter-in-law, Pastor Heather Dood, and Pastor Jack Doorlag officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, January 21 from 2-5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
