Cynthia Decot

Cynthia Elizabeth (Emmert) Decot, age 79, of Wyoming, was unexpectedly called to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 1, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Emmert and her sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Emmert. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Thomas; children, Deborah and Donald Ferguson, Thomas and Debi Decot, Bradley and Gretchen Decot, Kimberly and Jeff DeBoer, Tamara and Craig Anderson, Bryan and Nancy Decot; grandchildren, Sean and Aiko Ferguson, Brian and Lisa Ferguson, Nikki Decot Downs, Frank and Cindy Decot, Libby Decot and John DeKorne, David Decot, Hannah Decot, Dustin Anderson, special granddaughter, Stephanie Decot; special family friend, Jason Filighera; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Downs, Carter Downs, Evie Decot, Shelby Seguin; brothers, Tom and Eileen Emmert, Tim Emmert; sister, Hannah and Bob Wilson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph Decot, Richard and Rose Marie Decot, Connie and George Householder; many nieces and nephews and special niece, Jill, who talked to Aunt Cynthy every day.  Cindy was a warm, loving, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived out Christ’s calling to love one another by welcoming friends and strangers to the dinner table as well as fostering many children who needed the special heart of a mother.  She will be lovingly remembered for her love of her pets, Christmas cookies and crossword puzzles.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding.   Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL, 35210.
