Craig A. Peterson, age 75, of Hudsonville, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, May 27, 2022. Craig was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who dearly loved his family. He retired from Jenison Public Schools with over 40 years of faithful service. Craig had a love of sports, coaching and mentoring many students over the years. He was recently inducted into the Jenison Athletic Hall of Fame receiving the legacy award. Above all, his devotion to his family, investment in his grandchildren, and impact he made on the students he taught was evident to all who knew him. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; his children, Tricia and Pete Vredeveld, Jeff and Heidi Peterson, Sara Peterson; his beloved grandchildren, Marissa and Dirk Weisenburger, Andrew Vredeveld, Brayden Vredeveld, Alivia, Jaxon, and McCoy Peterson; great-granddaughter, Layla Weisenburger; sister, Diane and Tom Wiest; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Toering; one nephew and three nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Harbor Life Church, 3085 Wallace Ave SW, Grandville with Pastor Ben Peters officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Jenison High School Athletics.
