Cornie DeVos, age 82, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Cornie loved serving the Lord by serving people. He was a skilled brick mason and enjoyed sharing his expertise on many mission building projects. Cornie proudly served our country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nelvina Bomgaars; and his brothers-in-law, Theodore Brunsting, John Kooima. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marie J. DeVos; children, Debra and Mark Sietsema, Larry and Karen DeVos, Lisa and Jim Berens; grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Sietsema, Kevin and Rebecca Sietsema, Lindsay DeVos, Christopher DeVos and fiancée, Bethany Wubben, Zachary DeVos, Stephanie DeVos, Kira Berens, Jarod Berens; great grandchildren, Makena Sietsema, Brody Sietsema; siblings, Elizabeth Brunsting, Wilmina and Andrew Oostra, Clarice Kooima; sisters-in-law, Clazena Boylan, Beverly and Lester Boersema, Mary Cleypool; brothers-in-law, Marion Cleypool, Joe Bomgaars Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 10 AM at Fair Haven Church, 2900 Baldwin Street, Hudsonville, with Rev. Harvey Heneveld and Rev. Gary Van Koevering officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.
