Cornelia “Connie” Scholten

Cornelia “Connie” Scholten, age 88, of Jenison, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gerrit Scholten; and her sisters, Eleanor Lokker and Jean VanVolkinburg. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jerry Scholten, Sue (Dan) Wierenga; grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua Wierenga; sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Don) Kooienga; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jay (Elsa) Scholten, Jo Ann DeKoster. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. James Evenhouse and Rev. Mark Bennink officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Sunset and Emmanuel Hospice for the compassionate care given to Connie.
