Clifford Francis Cuneo

Clifford Francis Cuneo, age 98, of Rockford, MI passed away on October 10, 2024. He was in good health until his death. He was born on June 27, 1926, in Kersey PA, the son of the late Clifford and Florence Steinlehner Cuneo. Cliff proudly served his country during WW2 as Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corp in Europe. He married Erma Nissel of St. Marys, on August 21, 1948.  Cliff and Erma were married for 71 loving years. He and Erma lived in Ridgway, PA for 20 years. He served on the Ridgway Borough Council, was a member of the Lions, Toastmaster & Moose Clubs, and worshiped at St. Leo Church. Cliff had a long career in the pigments industry, working himself up through the ranks from lab tech to plant manager at Ridgway Color and Chemical. In 1967, he moved his family to Holland, Michigan, where he took an executive position at the Chematron Pigments plant. After retirement in 1991, Cliff stayed active, serving as a dedicated volunteer at the Holland Community Action House, Help Line, English-as-a-Second-Language, Holland Soup Kitchen, Hospice and Holland Mental Health Compeer Program.  Clifford was preceded in death by wife Erma; his sister, Helen Cuneo Pontzer of Ridgway; and his great-grandchild, Troy Weller. Cliff is survived by his son, Dennis (Bonnie) Cuneo of Reno, NV; daughter, Deborah (Jerry) Bruizeman of Ludington, MI; son, David (Kathleen) Cuneo of Rockford, MI; daughter, Mary Susan (Thomas) VanDerPloeg of Yorktown, VA; son, Andrew (Kara Beth) Cuneo of Oconomowoc, WI; and son, Michael (Kristine) Cuneo of Rockford, MI. He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, ranging from age 3 to 52, who live across the country. Visitation and funeral mass will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church located at 6393 Belmont Ave NE, Belmont, MI on Friday, October 18, 2024.  Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Corso Care Hospice or your favorite charity.
