
Claude J. Meppelink “Mepp”, age 85, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his son, Ross Meppelink; brother and sister-in-law, George and Bonnie Meppelink; and brother-in-law, John Engelsman. Claude will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Sharon; children, Dr. Kurt and Sheri Meppelink, Joni and Steve Dykstra, Teri and David Wynn; daughter-in-law, Shari and Joel Hoekstra; grandchildren, Paul Meppelink, Katrina Meppelink, Nicki and Justin Kollar, Kristin and Hayden Karpinski, Tyler and Louisa Dykstra, Barry and Megan Dykstra, Cody and Kaitlyn Dykstra, Kaylee and Heath Brower, Meghan and Jake Berens, Emily and Kevin Boschma, Lindsey and Logan Schimmel, Gina and Eric Rickert, Alec and Bridget Crumb, Ryan Crumb and fiancee Maddie Herd; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Engelsman;and many cousins. Mepp proudly served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed anything with an engine, particularly Fords. He cherished the relationships he made from his co-workers to his church family. He was very involved in his church serving as an elder and head Cadet counselor. Family, and spending time with them, was everything to him. His prayer at Christmas was that his children and grandchildren continue to walk in faith. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Messiah Christian Reformed Church, 2900 Springdale Ave., Hudsonville, with Pastor Nate Meldrim officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, January 12 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Monday from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hudsonville Christian School or Unity Christian High School.
