Christie H. Heine

Christie Henning (Haley) Heine received her invitation into the mansions of Heaven at quarter past three on the morning of Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, Michigan, aged 47 (and considerable change), after a brief fight with pancreatic cancer.
Christie was born on January 10th, 1971 in Bristol, Pennsylvania, and raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania, graduating from Harry S. Truman High School in 1989.  She married Kevin Rex Heine on September 17th, 2010, the couple then settling in Kentwood, Michigan.
A daughter of the American Revolution and the American Confederacy, Christie was an accomplished genealogist, and a gifted chef and baker, with a great love for children.  Other than her personal salvation, she considered as her greatest gift from God the daughter that five different doctors had told her she would never conceive, let alone deliver.  Her gratitude for her Savior was expressed through her active service within Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, in Wyoming, Michigan.  She was also an activist and donor with the Kent County Republican Committee – her name is on the donor plaque at the current Kent GOP Headquarters – and well known within the network of Kent County veterans organizations.
Christie had signed up with the Michigan Organ Donor Registry.  Consistent with her wishes, her eyes have been harvested by the Michigan Eye Bank, so that another may see.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, and her husband’s parents, Garwood & Florence Heine.  She is survived by her husband: Kevin; her daughter: Kristin; three step-children: Charles, Jennifer (Logan Bussell), and Nathan; her parents: Harry & Diana Haley; her brother: Harry II; two grandchildren; two particularly close nieces, Krystal and Hope Haley; and many additional colleagues, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be observed on the afternoon of Saturday, December 15th, at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4201 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming, Michigan, beginning at 2:00 p.m. (the family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m.).  A visitation will be hosted on Friday at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave., Wyoming, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Holy Trinity will be live streaming the funeral service (http://bit.ly/christieheine) for those who are unable to attend.  Her family has requested that those desiring to leave a memorial, please consider donating to the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School Tuition Assistance Fund in her name.
