
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Marie Russo, who left this world on March 24, 2025 at the age of 64. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she valued family above all else.
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, Cheryl made her home in Rockford, Michigan, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Michael Russo; and their children: Nic Russo: Jillian Duffy and her husband, Darren, along with their children, Shane (23), Shanea (18), Lunnella (10) and Tidus (6): Mary McHugh and her husband, Keith, and their son, Jack (4): and Joseph Russo and his daughter, Navi (7); her mother, Donna Zograph; and siblings: Deb Matchinsky, Gary Marsman, and Laura Strobridge.
Family was the heart of everything Cheryl did. She was a source of warmth, wisdom, and kindness, always ready with a gentle word or a strong embrace. Whether gathered around the kitchen table or celebrating life’s milestones, she found joy in the simple moments spent with those she loved and enjoyed the serenity in a beautiful sunset.
Her legacy lives on in the lessons she shared, the love she gave, and the family she cherished. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at St. Patrick Parish of Parnell, 4351 Parnell Ave NE, Ada, MI 49301, at 11:00am on Friday, March 28. The church will be open before the service for a visitation hour at 10:00am. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming at 1:30pm. Flowers may be sent to the church or donations be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
