Charles Searcy

Charles Searcy, age 78, of Marne, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Charles worked for GM for around 20 years as a machine operator. He loved to go boating, golfing, and he was an avid bowler. Charles also loved all things sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelin and Sophie Searcy, and his brother, Gerald Searcy. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Coreen; children, Charles (Robin) Searcy, Alan (Mary) Searcy, Chad (Kelly) Searcy, stepchildren, Gary (Deanna) VanderLind, Thomas (Tonya) VanderLind, Brenda (Tim) Westveld; 19 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, September 11, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
