STIEHL – Charles O. Stiehl, aged 90, of Kentwood went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wives, Dorothy and Laura Jane Stiehl; parents, Oren and Laura Pearl Stiehl; and son, James Stiehl. He is survived by his son, Brian (Laurel) Stiehl; daughter-in-law, Shelly Stiehl; grandsons, Casey Stiehl and Travis Stiehl; brother, Robert (Dory) Stiehl; brother-in-law, Hayes (Peggy) Cargill; and many nieces and nephews. He was a long-time, loyal member of South United Methodist Church where he was an active volunteer, and mentored children. He was a handyman, loved gardening, camping, traveling and the Audubon Society. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during WW II. The family would like to thank the staff of Clark Retirement Community for their loving care of Charles. Funeral services for Charles will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the South United Methodist Church, 4500 South Division with Rev. Mack Strange officiating. Interment in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE on Thursday from 6-8 pm. and Friday from 10 am until the time of the service at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Clark Retirement Home Patient Assistance Fund.
