Cecil “Mike” Godfrey

Cecil Michael “Mike” Godfrey, age 72, of Newaygo, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Jasper, Georgia and was raised in Michigan. He lived in North Carolina for many years. He loved the mountains, the beach, and traveling with his wife. He was an avid bowler before a foot injury prevented it. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Linda; children, Tina and Wes Emert, Susan and Dan Krieger, Jenny Godfrey, Nikki and Brian Turner, Allen and Michele Kibbey, Jason and Tara Kibbey; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Judy Stewart; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Barb and Dan Stevens, Glenn and Chris Harvey, Bobbie and Chris Harvey, Donna Harvey; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Betty Godfrey; grandson, Baby Shon; siblings, Roger, Ronnie, Debbie. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home before services.
