Catherine “Kit” Kennedy McIntyre

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018. Kit was preceded in death by her favorite dance partner and husband of 67 years, Hiram “Chip” McIntyre, and her son-in-law L.Ray Fauble. Kit, the youngest of six children, was born and raised in Valley Stream, New York and moved to Michigan in 1947 as a new bride. She was a member of St. John Vianney Church for over 65 years and very involved in school and church activities.  She was a den mother, active in the Home and School Association, and the manager and coach for the SJV cheerleaders. At less than five feet tall, Kit was always the first height goal for all the children in her life, right down to the great grandchildren who loved measuring themselves against their Grandma Mackey. Kit will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kathleen Fauble, Kevin and Nancy McIntyre, Chris and Carol McIntyre, Ken and Nancy McIntyre, Beth McIntyre and Steve Watkins. She will be so missed by her grandchildren, Mark and Shannon Fauble, Tara Fauble-Pierce, Erin and Michael Velzen, Andrea and Chuck Prins, Shannon and Ben Maddox, Kate and Corey Swiftney, Nicky and Dana Tew, Brian and Stephanie McIntyre, and Alex McIntyre.  She will always be Grandma Mackey to all her great grandchildren, Aaron and Joni, Allison and Moe, Andrea, Alex, Erica, Zach, Marissa, Brendan, Maggie, Raye, Kennedy, Charlotte, Aylah, Garrett Hiram, Ellen, Carolyn, Brecken, Kenzie, Declan, Till and Hannah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11 the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of West Michigan United Way.
