Catherine “Kay” Mae Mulder, age 97, of Jenison, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Kay was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She grew up on a farm, where she learned the value of hard work and faith. For more than 60 years, she was a faithful member of Hope Christian Reformed Church, where she loved singing in the choir and touching the lives of many through her music and fellowship. Kay had a lifelong love for music and enjoyed playing the piano, both for church services and later for her friends and fellow residents at Sunset Manor. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her kindness, and her love for her family and faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mulder; and all 12 of her siblings and their spouses. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doug and Merrie Mulder, Jan Mulder, Barb and Randy Owens, Jeff and Marilyn Mulder; grandchildren, Scott (Krista) Mulder, Gregg (Alisha) Mulder, Ross (Megan) Mulder, Jennica (Niko) Vergis, Jaryd (Samatha) Owens, Corrine Owens, Kevin (Alyssa) Mulder, Christine (Ryan) Persenaire; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. The burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 7, from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Sunset Manor for the exceptional care given to Kay.
