Carroll F. Kidder

Carroll F. Kidder, born June 22, 1932 in the village of Alaska, Kent County, Michigan, died peacefully at home Wednesday morning, March 25, 2020. He was the son of Jesse and Nellie (Schultz) Kidder, brother of Arnold (Catherine) and Viola Kidder. Carroll attended Caledonia school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving in the war, he worked at American Seating Company where he retired after 41 years. In 1956, he married Donna Wight and they lived in the house he and his brother, Arnold built. Carroll and Donna had four children; Cara Lynn Kidder (passed Feb. 24, 2014), Debra Sue (Leroy) Yahne, Lori Ann (John) Proulx and David Carroll (Patty Soule) Kidder. Carroll is survived by his wife, Donna of 63 married years of bliss; his three surviving children; eleven grandchildren, Cassandra Kidder, Janelle, Amanda, Beth and Kevin (Danielle) Yahne, Heather (Steven) Chandler, Andria (Troy) Angott, Christopher Proulx and Kyle (Becky) Proulx, David Lawrence Kidder and Jesse Kidder, and his fourteen great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the races at Berlin Raceway, following Nascar, riding motorcycles, traveling, collecting model tractors and race cars, and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carroll will be remembered fondly and dearly missed. A family service celebrating Carroll’s life has been held. Burial at Alaska Cemetery.
