Carolyn Nieuwbeerta

Carolyn Nieuwbeerta, age 80, of Hudsonville, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Born in the Netherlands, Carol came to the United States with her family at 5 years old. She enjoyed camping with her family, spending time at their cottage and lake. She also loved quilting, cooking, baking, camping, and bible studies at her church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. Most of all, she loved having family over and being together hosting them.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Wesley; children: Sharon and Steve Scott, Dale and Shelley Nieuwbeerta, Sueann and Keith Keen, Dan and Kelly Nieuwbeerta, Derek and Lori Nieuwbeerta; 8 grandchildren: Katie (David) Troxell, Andrew Nieuwbeerta, Lauren, Ashley, and Ryan Keen, Zach and Taylor Nieuwbeerta, Claire Nieuwbeerta; siblings: Helen Postma, Dick (Mary) Wynja, Theresa (Fred) Schuurmann, Art (Sandy) Wynja, Jim (Alice) Wynja; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Dr., Hudsonville, with Pastor Scott VanOostendorp officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
