
Carolyn Ruth Morren, age 85, of Jenison, with her family by her side, went to be with her Lord peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023. Her faith was strong, her witness was vibrant, and her personality was magnetic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Morren; her parents, Gerrit and Nettie DeKruyter; grandsons, Aaron Willea and Ross Poel; sister, Lois Veenstra; sisters-in-law, Winifred Vander Veen, Harriet Kraker. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Pam) Krannitz, Bryan (Heidi) Krannitz, Todd Krannitz, Dawn (Rob) Arnoys; stepchildren, Judy (Terry) VanHaitsma, Russ Morren, Phil (Sandra) Morren, Kathy (Bill) Poel, Jim Morren, Mary (Bruce) Sterenberg; brother, Gordon (Joyce) DeKruyter; sisters, Nancy (Ralph) Overzet, Mary (Daniel) Mulder; and sister-in-law, Sadie (Ron) Nederveld. In addition, she was a grandmother to 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was a selfless person who most enjoyed caring for others and was continuously invested in the lives of her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, card and jewelry making, knitting and travel. The most important things in her life were God and her family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 3520 Kiel St., Hudsonville, with Rev. Bob Huisman officiating. A private family committal service will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday, August 22, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. and Wednesday from noon-12:50 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Bridge Street Ministries or New City Kids, City View Church.
