Carol was a loving, caring, wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She maintained the respect and order of her family with a snap of the finger and the “Mom Look.”  She sent the kids to school with hot muffins and had Jiffy pie crust treats for them when they came home.  She never missed the kids’ or grandkids’ sporting events.  Carol was a determined woman who set goals and achieved them, like climbing Mt. Baldy. She loved working at Koeze’s part time for 35 plus years.  Carol was devoted to her church and school, St. John Vianney, serving as librarian and school nurse for several years. The kids and grandkids called her “The Solar Powered Grandma” because of the time she spent soaking up the sun while on vacation in Alabama, and they always looked forward to Christmas Eve at Grandma’s.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 4 at 10 am at St. John Vianney with Fr. John Vallier officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, July 3 from 5 -7 pm with a vigil service at 7:00 PM at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.
