Carol J. Baarda

BAARDA – Carol J. Baarda, aged 79 of Grand Rapids went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents, Elmer and Charlotte Pearson. She is survived by her children, Debra (David) Koster, Richard (Julie) Baarda; grandsons, Derek (Kari), Daniel (Caitlin), Nicholas, Connor; great-grandchildren, Ella, Liam and Roman; sister, Karen (Ronald) Coppotelli; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Thelma (Allen) Carr, Albertus Faber, Alvin Kamminga; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Redeemer Covenant Church, 6951 Hanna Lake SE. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE on Sunday from 2-5 pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin or Gentiva Hospice.
