Carlos “loso da boss” Solivan is a man who was and did it all. He is a present Papi to 4 beautiful kids, three girls: Arianna, Amari, Amelis, and one boy, Adriel. He is the son of Nancy Ortiz and Javier Solivan, and a brother to Jose Solivan and many others but most of all he was a loving, loyal and dedicated partner to Sarahi Calderon. Carlos is a good friend to anyone who crosses paths with him and would never turn anyone down in their time of need. Whether it was family, friends, or a homeless person with a sign on the side of the road, if he had it he gave it.
He passed away at the young age of thirty-three doing what he loves, riding his motorcycle. In the afternoon of Saturday, July 19 just three days after his birthday, Carlos was returning home from working on his bike to be able to have it ready to ride for his birthday weekend. On the way home, riding down the street where he lives on Charlesgate, a pickup truck backs into him and Carlos dies on site.
With such an early passing, Carlos will not get to live up to his full potential. He has a passion for speed and everything fast. He turns broken down junk yard cars into racecars. He would work all hours of the day to get them up and running as soon as possible and put them to the test. He gave up fast cars and fast bikes for his family, but had the chance to get back into it all and took it. When he bought his fixer upper bike, he was ecstatic to get back to it and that he did. He was ready to take his partner with him and ride until he couldn’t ride anymore. He has plans to buy a fixer upper Mustang to build together with his partner to share his passion with her and include her in the process. He is in the process of finding a house to move his family into and to celebrate the upcoming birthday of his daughter, brother, and other loved ones. He did so much more for his family than just pay bills. He is attentive to all of his children’s wants and needs. And was trying to be a better boyfriend/partner, father, son, brother, and friend.
In that accident, all that was taken from him. So many unaccomplished goals. He will forever be missed, loved, and cherished. To have known Carlos meant knowing what a true friend really is. Forever loved and always will be missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24 from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.
