Carl Brinks

On June 14, 2024, Carl Henry Brinks, age 92, left his earthly home and is now in the arms of Jesus. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.” Psalm 116:15. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Edna in 2012. He leaves behind five children: Beth (Larry) DeRuiter, Gayla (Bruce) Geers, Sheila (Tom) Markoski, Sheryl (Greg) DuVall, Terry (Mary) Brinks; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Gorden Brinks; and sister-in-law, Barb Brinks. Carl and Edna raised their children in McBain, Michigan. Carl drove a meat truck, while Edna raised their family. He later was part owner of T&C Foods in Wyoming. Carl loved to spend his time in nature, hunting, fishing, landscaping, and taking care of his fruit trees. While Carl had many friends, his real joy was spending time with his family. Carl was an active member of the Christian Reformed Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Brent Beckett officiating. The burial will take place at Plainfield Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Sunset Manor and Corewell Health Hospice for the love and compassionate care given to Carl.
