Calvin “Cal” Redmon Jr., age 89, formerly of Grandville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 4, 2020. We rejoice that he is now free of his pain and sorrow. Cal was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife of 61 years, Janice. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War. Cal owned and generously operated Redmon Heating and Cooling for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of First Reformed Church in Grandville. Using salvaged boards, windows, and nails, he built a cottage for the family to enjoy; filling his family with great memories of fishing, tether ball in the lake, paddle boat rides, teaching his grandchildren to ski, and chasing turtles. Above all, he cherished his family deeply, keeping a file of every picture that his grandchildren made for him. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joyce ann and Scott Reed, Sue and Jeff Kremers, Carol and Kevin Clausen; grandchildren, Rich and Angie Dragicevich, Jennie and Ryan Treharne, KC and Aubrey Dragicevich, Stephanie and Chris McKellar, Courtney and Joshua Gramm, Kaitlin and Spencer Lyons, Cody and Meghan Kremers, Scott Kremers, Marla Clausen, Charlie Clausen, and Sam Clausen; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald and Arline Schlaudraff; and sister-in-law, Janet Ricord. A private family graveside service will be held at Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation.
