Bruce Michael Sampo

Bruce Michael Sampo, age 70, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2017.  Bruce served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a paint salesman for 40 years working with PPG Industries, Painters Supply.  After retirement, he worked at Indian Trails Golf Course.  Bruce was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and he also loved casinos.  He was great fan for Jenison High School sports watching his boys play ball.  Bruce was a wonderful husband, father, and poppie, and will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann; his children, Jeffrey Sampo, Chad and Danielle Sampo; 2 grandchildren, Giovanni, and Gianni; brothers and sister, Mark and Cindy Sampo, Sherri and Bruce Allen, Gary Sampo; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl Stachnik, Roger and Ellen Stachnik; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vernice Sampo; parents-in-law, Edward and Susie Stachnik; sister-in-law, Linda Stachnik; and nephew, Michael Sampo.  The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Manor for their amazing care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Fr. Roc Majalla presiding.  Interment will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Cambridge Manor.
