Bruce Carl Mannes, of Hudsonville, born October 28, 1946, entered into the arms of his Savior on September 17, 2025. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 44 years, Susan; children, Brian (Tammy) Mannes, Stephanie Berry-Biriouk, Bradley Mannes, Stacey (Scott) Tuttle; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Cherry (Dick) Sewers, Nancy (Tim) VanNest; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Will) Troxell, Ruth Racine; many nieces and nephews; and dear sister in Love, Kathleen Thompson. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alieta Mannes; in-laws, Roy and Ronnie Culp; sister, Bonnie Joldersma; brother, Mark Mannes; brother-in-law, John Racine; and nephew, Tim VanNest. He was humble in spirit and always willing to use his gifts to enrich the lives of others. A talented and gifted carpenter, Bruce was so happy to be able to build desks for students at the school in Kenya, Africa, and to create and build the interior woodwork at Jenison Bible Church. He loved working alongside the missionaries at Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go in Watauga, TN for many years. He was always willing to help the widows or folks from Jenison Bible Church who needed carpentry work done. Bruce loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. Watching them play water polo, lacrosse, football, and hockey was a joy. Even after they graduated from high school, he continued to attend as many Hudsonville football games as possible. Bruce loved camping and visiting waterfalls. Many summer vacations were spent traveling to visit many National Parks and Michigan campgrounds. Bruce had a wonderful sense of humor which he showed by dressing up in silly costumes to entertain kids at VBS or summer Bible camps for many years. He was known as “Cousin Brucie” to many, and he loved to surprise our friends from church on their 40th birthdays with his crazy antics. Most recently, Bruce was a big hit in the Imperial Wilderness Condo Association variety show this past season in his Naples, FL winter home. He was part of many comedy acts which can be viewed on YouTube. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Ave., Hudsonville with Pastor Steven Washburn officiating.
