Brittany VanderJagt, age 33, of West Michigan, left this world leaving holes in the hearts of many on September 20, 2021. Brittany’s life revolved around the beauty of nature. She found her peace among the trees and at the riverbanks and often spent time gardening, camping, and kayaking. She enjoyed raising butterflies and going to Monarch butterfly conservations. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rose and George Lambert, Arlene and James VanderJagt; and her brother, Zachariah VanderJagt. Brittany will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Mary and Dr. Bruce Jackson; father, James VanderJagt; siblings, Jade VanderJagt; Jakob and Kate Jackson, Hilary and Jesse Tien, Brock Jackson, Trent and Morgan Jackson, and Rhett Jackson; significant other Erik Chmelar; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
