Our beautiful, brave, Briana Mistina Dominguez, was born Monday, January 9, 2006, in Grand Rapids, Michigan and entered the Kingdom of Heaven at home and surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Briana had fought a tough battle with cancer for almost three years after beating it once before.

Briana’s inner joy seemed to shine. Everyone loved her instantaneously. It’s so easy to love her. Bri was beautiful, smart, and funny. Even when she was at her most visibly ill, she remained positive, strong, and never complained of her discomfort. She displayed such admirable grace and strength.

In her short life, Briana had such a nurturing and motherly spirit; so much so that she was chosen to be Godmother of Reyna, whom she loved as her own. Bri also had a love for basketball and was looking forward to playing for her high school the year she was diagnosed.

Briana is survived by those closest to her: her mother, Amparo Morales; mother figure, Abi Ayers; older sister, Jiyana Dominguez; younger brother, Mar’Cal Thomas; grandfathers, Jesus Morales, and Calvin Thomas; Mercedes Morales, Junior and Andre Estrada, Jayden Morales, Don and Lina Castro, Pedro and Rebecca Castro, Julian Gibson, Annessa and Amaya Castro; goddaughter, Reyna Medina; Daisy Medina, Charity Lawler; her dog, Reese; as well as other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Briana loved the Lord. We know she is made new and is walking streets of gold!

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
