Brian Alan Ferguson, 64, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 23, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with multiple myeloma.   Brian was born in Ferndale, Michigan to the late Marvin and Dorothy (Roux) Ferguson. He was the fourth born of six children in a close-knit family, graduating from Ferndale High in 1979. Brian was a talented artist. It was through his love of art that he met his late wife, Kitty. Brian moved to Grand Rapids, married Kitty in November of 1986, and the union produced 3 children: Christopher, Andrea and Sarah. Despite disabilities causing separation from his children, they were his pride and joy, and Brian spoke of his “kids” often.  Brian was a good man, with a warm heart and generous spirit. He always had a smile on his face and was quick with a joke. In his later years, he resided at Breton Village Green with his brother Steven, where he found a purpose in helping others. He enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, riding his bike, taking walks to the park, and listening to his vast collection of CDs. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends.  Brian was preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathleen “Kitty” (Bueche) Ferguson; parents Marvin and Dorothy (Roux) Ferguson, and a sister, Karen (Ferguson) Taylor.  Brian will be missed by his siblings, Steven, Michael (Patricia Johns), Charlie (Lori) Ferguson, and Rebecca (Lance) Eggen; a special aunt, Gloria Garrett; his children, Christopher and Andrea Ferguson, and Sarah (Arik) Hotzlander; grandchildren; nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, and his long-time caregiver, Donielle James. A Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at  Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Phil Shangraw officiating.
