Arlene Mae Hendricks

Arlene Hendricks, age 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Arlene enjoyed attending concerts and listening to a wide variety of music, especially the Statler Brothers. She was a devoted christian and was in the choir at 8th Reformed church. She enjoyed traveling throughout Michigan, especially to the Upper Peninsula. Arlene also had a passion for baking and was well known for her delicious pies and cookies, with her apple pie being a family favorite. For family gatherings she would make her Seven Layer Salad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hendricks, son, Bruce Hendricks, brother, Willard VanHouten.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children,  Kevin Hendricks, Michael and Michelle Hendricks, Joy Hendricks; sister-in-law, Beatrice VanHouten; and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, July 9, 2026  at  Eighth Reformed Church, 841 Burton St. SW, Wyoming, MI with Rev. Harry Koops officiating. Burial will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4-7 pm at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.
