Beverly K. Schindorf

Beverly (Bev) Schindorf passed away Sunday June 4, 2023, at age 85, and went Home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Nelson and Esther Arnola (Bade) Van Noord; also her “beloved” husband, Harold James Schindorf, of 50 years. She graduated from Wyoming High School in 1956, where she was involved in band and choir for 4 years. She spent many years singing with her sisters in many Churches in the Grand Rapids area. She attended and graduated from Blodgett Memorial Hospital Nursing program in 1959. She received her RN and worked in Nursing for 30 years, where she spent the majority of her Nursing career at Blodgett Hospital, as staff Nurse on the Orthopedics floor where she developed a love for Geriatrics. She enjoyed attending Bible Study Groups for many years, and singing with the Funeral Choir at St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her Sister, Bonnie Lu Carmer (Gil); brothers; Alan Glen (Fran) and Robin J, James Henry Van Noord; Son-in-Law, Daniel Harkema. She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Ray) Dunneback, Edward Schindorf, and Heidi Harkema; grandchildren, Michael Dunneback, Daniel Dunneback, Benjamin (Ashley) Dunneback, Samantha (Josh) Radecki, Amanda Dunneback, Sebastian Harkema, and Elizabeth (Sammie) Ford; great grandchildren, Brody Dunneback, Lauren Dunneback, Jackson Dunneback, Charles Dunneback, and Amiyah Ford; sister-in-Laws, Ethel Niles, Charlotte Cook, Mary Van Noord and Karolyn Van Noord; siblings, Barbara (LeRoy) Kenney, Mary Beth (Joe) Francis, Lois Berth, Nona Lee Van Noord, and Joel Mark Van Noord; and many nieces and nephews. Special recognition to her “adopted” grandchildren, Austin (Taryn) King, Macy (Ryan) Austin, and Morgan (Logan) Syme; and their parents Deb and Don King, whom she loved; and their great grandchildren, Ellis Lee Austin and Brooks Austin Syme. Beverly’s favorite bible verse was Ephesians 2:8-9 – “By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift to God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 12, 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd NE, with Fr. Ayub Francis Nasar officiating. Beverly will lie in state one hour prior to the Mass from 10-11 a.m. Burial will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 12, at 3:00 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Catholic Resurrection Choir or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
