Beverly Belle Heible

Beverly Belle Heible, age 83, of Belmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Bev was an example of strength to her family as she fought hard in her battle against Leukemia. She had a heart for serving others and spent many years caring for people as a nurse. She was exceptional in every nursing position she held over the years - in the VA outpatient clinic, a home nurse, or volunteering her skills. Her favorite pastimes included reading, landscaping, writing children’s books, baking, cooking, and going out for dinner. She will be remembered especially for her talented baking. Bev enjoyed treating others with her homemade sweets. Together with her husband John, she was able to travel to many places including the Caribbean, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, California, Vermont, Maine, and New York City. She was most proud of being a grandma and took every opportunity to make her grandchildren feel special, including publishing four books which starred her grandchildren and nieces and their magical adventures. She will be especially missed for her deep love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Laura Baumgardner. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 36 years, John; children: Becky (Mike) Thompson, Paul Hamacher, Jennifer (Dan) Alstead, Allison Rogers; grandchildren: Andrew and Luke Alstead, Alaina and Mallory Rogers; sister, Connie Baumgardner; brother-in-law, Alan Heible; sister–in-law, Sherrell (Lyle “Pete”) Wright; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will be held at Blythefield Memory Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
