
Betty Jean Thompson, age 94, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. She was born in North Baltimore, Ohio and lived there most of her life. She moved to Port Clinton after her marriage to Paul Thompson. She later moved to Michigan after his passing to be close to her family. She loved the Lord and was a strong prayer warrior, especially for the needs of her beloved family. Being one of 16 children, she enjoyed keeping a clean home. She also enjoyed flowers, cards, and most of all, being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thompson in March 2020; parents, William and Mabel Hosler, and 15 siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jerry and Ruth Ann Gore; grandchildren: Tom and Samantha Gore, Mandy and John Pike, Matt Gore (fiancée, Michelle Wolven); great-grandchildren: Gracie and Ray McCurry, Tabitha Gore, Cora Gore, Waylon Gore, Tristen Gore, Johnny Pike, Jocelyn Pike, Ethan Gore, Sabra, Garrett, Caleb, Raiane, Emmy; one great-great-grandchild, Maya Jean; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Rush Creek Bible Church.
