Betty Postema

Betty Postema, age 89, of Jenison, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 and is now home with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John; and infant son, Clarence John. She treasured life with her husband and raising her family. She enjoyed spending time camping and traveling. Betty was sure to support all of her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. Her faith was important to her, and she cherished her church family at Walker United Reformed Church. Betty will be greatly missed. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda and Jim Emelander, Renee and Randy Siegersma, Gary and Terri Postema; grandchildren, Kristen and Nathan Thompson, Janna and Gray Houston, Kelly Siegersma and fiance, Chance St. Germain, Drew Siegersma, Caroline and Isaac Coulson, Lauren Postema, Grace Postema and fiance, Robby Bell; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Claire Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Dave VanderMeer officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Betty’s family is especially thankful for the care that she received from the staff at Sunset. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation.
