Betty Jean Hildreth

Betty Jean Hildreth, age 82, of Big Rapids, went peacefully to be with her husband, Robert, again on Friday, August 31, 2018. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She was blessed with a great sense of humor, always sharing a laugh with her family and friends. Whenever the opportunity presented itself, Betty loved to shop and could always find a way to the nearby garage sales. Many fun memories were made with her grandchildren during these outings. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Leann. She will be lovingly remembered by children, Denise Hildreth and Christine Bassett; grandchildren; Nicole Peacock, Heather Franklin, Eric Bassett;  7 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Nyman; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 2 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Inurnment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to West Michigan Humane Society.
