Betty Bylsma

Betty (Swart) Bylsma, age 90, of Jenison, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 22, 2016  She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Stuart J. Bylsma on October 27, 2013.  She will be deeply missed by her children, Gary and Marilyn Bylsma, Marcia and Richard Flikkema, Carole ten Haaf, Phyllis Bylsma, Sharon and Tim Rus; 22 grandchildren; and 69 great grandchildren (and 1 due in September). She is also survived by her sister, Theresa Looyenga; sister-in-law, Thea and John Buiter; brothers-in-law, Ed Cammenga, and Frank Block; and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Karen (Reitsma) Bylsma; grandchildren, Kyle Flikkema, Charity Rus, Christine (Bylsma) Linker, Jonathan ten Haaf; great grandchildren, Jessica Linker, and Alexander Linker; brothers, John and Angie Swart, William and Ruth Swart, James and Dot Swart; sister, Marion and Simon Ondersma; and brother-in-law, Ted Looyenga. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 11:00 am at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church, 4320 40th St. SW, Grandville, with  her pastor, Rev. Kenneth Koole officiating.  A private committal service will be held at Garfield Park Cemetery prior to the memorial service.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, May 25, from 6-8 pm at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian School in Hudsonville, MI or Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School in Walker, MI.
