Bertha “Bea” Hoeksma

Bertha “Bea” (Vredevoogd) Hoeksma, age 94, of Grandville, was peacefully called home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.  She was a loving mother and grandmother with a sweet and contagious smile that was known to many.  Bea was preceded in death by her husbands, Ken Vredevoogd, Donald Tigchelaar and John Hoeksma.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jene Vredevoogd of AZ, Karen and Dave Zwart, Judy Wagner, Betsy and Kel Goodyke, Bruce and Cindy Vredevoogd of WA; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; several step children and grandchildren; sisters and brother, Grace and Ed Morren, Catherine Brunsink, Bud and Lavonne Apol, Bernice Mohr, Barb Hendrickson; sisters-in-law, Gerri Schans, Josephine Schans, Betty Zwemer, Penny Dykstra, Wilma Vredevoogd; many nieces and nephews.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday 2:00 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor James Molenbeek officiating. Cremation has taken place, interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mississippi Christian Family Services.
