Bernita Stegewans

Bernita J. (Spedoski) Stegewans, age 90, of Wyoming, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 1, 2021. Bernita was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. Many wonderful memories were made together with her family that will be forever cherished. She retired from Michigan Bulb Company after 27 years of dedicated service. Bernita had the gift of sewing, making many beautiful clothing items for her family and friends. She also enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Randy and Michele Stegewans, Mike Stegewans, Cheryl and Chris Van’t Hof, John Stegewans and his fiancee, Gail; grandchildren, Sabrina and Kevin Vander Weide, Jacob and Jen Van’t Hof, Nick and Jennie Stegewans, David and Lindsay Van’t Hof, Sarah Stegewans, Joe and Stef Van’t Hof; four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 10 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW with Fr. Stephen Durkee officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4-6 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with a rosary service to be held at 5:30 pm.
