Bernard Groen

 Bernard Groen, age 87, of Grandville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.  He was a farmer for many years and then went on to work at Fisher Body. Bernard also enjoyed collecting stamps in his spare time.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Pauline; children, Dale and Cheryl Groen, Mark Groen, Brian and Maribeth Groen, Lynn Groen; granddaughters, Heather, Stephanie, Marrah, Faith, Allison, Amelia; sisters, Janet Katsma, Wilma Levering; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Andrea Michael and Charles Ragland, Carolyn Rockwood, Rev. Gerrit and Judy Veenstra, Henry and Kathy Veenstra, Floyd and Nancy Veenstra, Susan and David VanHouten.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Snoeyink; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Pat Veenstra, Trudie Cummings, and Richard Rockwood.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. Gerrit Veenstra officiating.  Interment Kent Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
