Stephen Parent

Stephen Russell Parent, age 71, of Caledonia, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Andrew Parent; and his parents, Ernest and Catherine Parent. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Alex Parent; grandchildren, Elliot Parent, and Adeline Parent; former spouse, Patricia Kohaut-Kuntz; siblings, Gina, Chris, Liz, Becky, Amy, and Matt; and extended family and friends. Steve adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He spent the remainder of his time reading, playing chess, and enjoying nature around his home and backyard. Steve was an independent, kind, loving, and hardworking man who will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
