SLOT – Mr. Arthur “Art” Slot, aged 99 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gezina. He is survived by his children, Allan (Teresa) Slot, Ken (Jan) Slot, Ruth (John) Idema; his grandchildren, Alisha Slot, Nick (Jen) Slot, Valerie (Jacob) Russell, Kimberly (Don) Johnson, Jason (Janna) Slot, Kristi (Mike) McWilliams, Merridith (James) Snyder, Tim (Leah) Slot, Rachel (Kevin) Novak, Rebecca (Jon) Polack, Christopher Idema, Jennifer (Nicklaus) Phelps; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Doris) Slot; and many nieces and nephews. He was a long-time member of Boston CRC. Funeral services for Mr. Slot will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE with Pastor Jay Blankespoor officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Monday one hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Holland Home – Benevolent Fund at Fulton Manor.
