Arthur J Huff

Arthur J Huff, age 93, of Kentwood, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; brothers, George (Millie) Huff, and John (Marie) Huff. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gail and Judy Huff, Ruthann and Duane Fisher; grandchildren, Nicole (Lathe) Miller, Michelle (Don) Serba, Kevin Fisher, Holly Fisher; great-grandchildren, Chase Miller, Maya Miller, Emerson Miller, Harry Serba, Benjamin Serba, Finnegan Serba. Art was a warm, caring, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a long-time member of the Wyoming Fire Department, serving out of the Division Ave. Station #2 until his retirement at age 60. Art achieved the rank of Captain during his firefighting career. Art started and owned The Laundry Basket and one other laundry for many years. By education and employment, Art was an electrical engineer for Lear Siegler and later Smith Industries. He developed several products and received patents for them. He loved to hunt and fish, especially in his earlier years. He was very involved in the United Methodist Reformed Church and traveled to Haiti for missionary work. He also traveled to Israel and Egypt. Most of all Art loved his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 7 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. The entombment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family at 10 am before services.
