
Arnold Dale Folkersma, age 78, of Middleville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Born in the upper peninsula, he was an active 48 year member of Peace Church, serving as a deacon, elder, vice president of consistory. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing. He was a talented woodworker and all around handyman. He retired from Universal Forest Products and worked various positions for several companies at the Kent County International Airport for 42 years . Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Helen: sons, Alan and Ericka, Jeffrey, Brian and Lisa; grandchildren: Tristan, Kailyn, Jenna, Brayden, Ryan, Ethan, Jake, Dawson, Colton, Grair, Bodie; brother and sister: Raelene Kirkbride, Ronald (Marie) Folkersma; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norbert Bennin, John (Jeanne) Bennin, Maryjane Bennin; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Johanna “Jo” Folkersma.
A Celebration of Arnold’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Peace Church, 6950 Cherry Valley Ave., Middleville, with Pastor Ryan Kimmel officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Friday from 4-7 p.m and on Saturday from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
