
Arnold “Arnie” DeHoog, age 85, of Wyoming, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara DeHoog; two sisters, Claray Vander Sloot and Connie Basket; and stepfather, Casey Hielkema. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Norine DeHoog; children, Michelle and Cal Wierda, Deb and Paul Kellstedt, Don DeHoog, Craig and Megan DeHoog; six grandchildren, Aaron Wierda, Sean Wierda, Abigail Kellstedt, Elizabeth Kellstedt, Ruth DeHoog, Margo DeHoog; siblings, John and Peg DeHoog, Sandy VanderMey; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Arnie served in the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. His greatest joy was playing with his children and grandchildren and supporting them in their education and events. Arnie also enjoyed volunteering and helping others. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at Lee St. Christian Reformed Church, 1261 Lee St. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Steve DeVries officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
